Matt first joined our team in December 2015. After a brief gap in 2021 he is back as our Projects Manager, looking after everything project related!
What’s a typical day in your current role at TSS?
Managing the projects department, usually involving preparing quotes in the office, a site visit or two with potential customers, and fixing their broken technology or installing new.
What’s your favourite part of your job?
The variation and new challenges.
What did you do before joining TSS? (you can go as far back as you like)
I worked as the chief technician for an audio visual hire company.
Why/how did you get into the industry?
I got into the industry because of a strong passion for music and sound, along with an aptitude for technology/how things work.
What are your favourite/most interesting/most unusual gigs/jobs you’ve done in the past (either at TSS or in previous jobs)?
I like the jobs where there’s a bit of a challenge to overcome – although there is a lot to be said for the ones that go exactly to plan!
What do you do in your spare time?
Fall off my mountain bike.
What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?
Time is the most valuable thing you will ever have.
Who would you most like to be stranded on a desert island with?
A boat builder.
What would you do if you won the lottery?
I’d still want to keep busy so probably something philanthropic, with a lot of travelling thrown in.
