At Technical Stage Services, we’re all about making a positive impact, not only in our industry but within our community. Recently, Nikki, our Crew and Logistics Coordinator—and a passionate dog lover—took her commitment to caring a step further. Nikki took at volunteer day at Linbee Dog Rehoming.
After a bit of Google sleuthing, Nikki came across Linbee Dog Rehoming, a dedicated organisation committed to finding new homes for dogs with tough backgrounds. She was inspired by their work and decided to lend a hand in a way that combined her love for animals with her drive to give back.
When Nikki arrived for her one-off volunteer day, she joined Linbee’s resilient staff in taking the dogs for their daily walks. This is no small feat, as anyone who’s walked a group of eager canines can attest! Each dog, including a particularly spirited one named Heidi, was ready for their daily dose of exercise and fresh air. At Linbee, volunteers are warmly welcomed, and after a couple of hours shadowing staff to learn the ropes, volunteers are given the chance to take the dogs out on their own, providing these lovable animals with much-needed exercise, attention, and affection.
Seeing firsthand the dedication of the staff at Linbee was eye-opening for Nikki. Every day, these compassionate individuals give their all to help dogs who have faced challenging pasts. They show up day in and day out, even without the typical “luxuries” many of us take for granted, like weekends off or holidays. They’re there for the dogs, constantly working to meet their unique needs—especially for those dogs that require a bit of extra love and care due to their past experiences. This unwavering dedication left a lasting impression on Nikki and sparked her passion to spread the word about how others can help support Linbee’s mission.
Linbee Dog Rehoming relies heavily on donations to continue its compassionate work. They are in constant need of specific supplies that directly benefit the dogs and keep the shelter running smoothly. Here’s a list of items they are always in need of:
- Dry-cleaned duvets (feather-free)
- Towels
- Laundry detergent
- Dog beds in good condition
- Bedding
- Dog poo bags
- Floor cleaner
- Zoflora disinfectant cleaner
If you, like Nikki, feel inspired to make a difference, there are plenty of ways to support Linbee Dog Rehoming. Consider volunteering a few hours of your time to walk and bond with the dogs—they’re always eager for more hands-on-deck. Or, if you have any of the items on Linbee’s wish list to spare, donations are deeply appreciated and go a long way in enhancing the quality of life for these deserving dogs.
Nikki’s day with Linbee reminded us all at TSS that supporting the community can take many forms, and sometimes, a little effort goes a long way. Volunteering or donating even one item can make a real impact on the lives of dogs awaiting their forever homes. To learn more or get involved, visit Linbee Dog Rehoming’s website.
